We have approaching 65 years cumulative experience in procurement, manufacturing and marketing wood veneer from around the world. I am a second generation business person in the forest products industry. My father Gene Stone spent a lifetime selling hardwood plywood in the western United States. I grew up in Orange County California and lived there until 2009. I finished my 2 year degree at Fullerton College and graduated with high honors. At the same time, to put myself through college, I was working as a cabinet maker. I was pursuing a four year architecture degree when I started in the veneer business with a large corporation and a world leader in the international veneer market. I spent seven years in a sales capacity traveling the western United States. I was given an opportunity to manage their facility in Los Angeles for the next nine years. It allowed me multiple opportunities for growth none more important than traveling to Europe and South America procuring exotic veneer. After my 16 year tenure there I wanted a challenge and started a veneer business with two partners. We quickly grew the company but along the way lost some of our core values. In early 2010 I left that business to start the Veneer Source LLC to recapture those values I felt were so important.

Growing up in the small Midwestern town of Chippewa Falls, WI and working for my father’s 4th generation construction development business, I learned the importance of working hard to better yourself and achieve your goals. In 2009, I graduated from UW-Madison with a Bachelor’s in Economics, moved to Colorado and began my career in sales and management. After two years of searching for a position in a company that fit my values and provided an opportunity to grow myself and my career, I began with The Veneer Source. Over the past 7 years I have spent considerable time on log yards and at mills and turned millions of square feet of both domestic and exotic species of veneer. I have also traveled internationally and worked with architects, designers and manufacturers on specified and non-specified projects. I have spearheaded a continuing education program on wood veneer for the architectural and design community as well as a tree planting effort through our company. I am also well versed in the guidelines and regulations of FSC and LEED. I am very grateful to be working with such a dynamic company and to have the opportunity to help our clients grow their business.
