Latin name: Castanospermum australe

Origin: Australia

Characteristics: Tan to rich brown with gray-brown winter growth rings. Generally available in quarter sliced and is limited in availability. Some fiddleback figured logs are found. Can have a fair amount of pins or pips and texture can be somewhat coarse.

Use: Architectural woodwork and furniture.
