Latin name: Picea sitchensis

Origin: North America

Characteristics: Sapwood and heartwood are hard to differentiate as there is no heart coloring. Color is light yellowish and often almost white without particular markings. Generally produced as vertical grain and can be hard to produce without some buckle or rupture of the grain. The best logs are generally consumed for guitar backs.
