This log pictured on the right is a freshly downed Sycamore tree. At first this tree seems rather unassuming, looking like pretty much every other downed tree out there. But with a little care and some time spent in the manufacturing process we can turn that unassuming log into something unique and beautiful.

After cutting the tree in a way that allows it to be mounted to the slicing machine it goes through the process of being cut into these thin sheets, in this case .5 mm.

That slicing process you just witnessed leaves us with these beautiful leaves of Figured English Sycamore veneer, but it’s not quite done! These leaves will be dried and precisely clipped to make the refined finished product.

After spending all that time in a variety of different machines, we are left with these BEAUTIFUL leaves of English Sycamore Veneer. The grain is electric, and you have these beautiful horizontal highlights that run along the entire sheet!
